May Change for Good: Food & Friends

Each May, Ashland Food Co-op highlights a local nonprofit doing vital work in our community—and this month, we're proud to feature Food & Friends, the only Meals on Wheels program serving Jackson and Josephine Counties.

Food & Friends goes far beyond delivering hot meals. Their mission is to improve the health, well-being, and independence of older adults and adults with disabilities by offering:

  • Nutritious meals delivered to homes

  • Congregate dining at 10 senior centers

  • Meaningful social connection through daily contact with caring volunteers

  • Regular safety net checks for those living alone

Each year, Food & Friends provides more than 235,000 meals to approximately 3,000 individuals in our region—many of whom would otherwise face food insecurity and isolation.

Their work is powered by dedicated volunteers who deliver more than 16,000 meals each month to people who are homebound due to illness, injury, or disability.

Your spare change makes a big difference. When you round up at the register this month, you're helping ensure that our neighbors can continue living independently, with dignity and care.

💛 Round up this May to support Food & Friends—and help nourish our community in every sense of the word.
