Saving Paper One Coupon at a Time

To further our sustainability efforts and to serve you better, we began offering Electronic Owner Coupons this month at the register.

No more forgetting to bring your owner coupons. No more waiting for your newsletter to arrive. Cashiers will simply ask if you want to use your owner coupons when you check out.

A few key points to remember:

  • Coupons will now be monthly.
10% Off eCoupons will be offered three times per year February, June and October. $5 off $25 or more eCoupons will be offered the other nine months. Please note, if eCoupons are not used by the end of each respective month they are available, they will expire.

  • In January, a $5 off $25 or more eCoupon is available electronically at registers. Owners with purchases of $25 or more will be asked at check-out if they’d like to use this $5 eCoupon. Please note, if not used by January 31, this eCoupon will expire.

  • Then on February 1, a 10% Off eCoupon will be available electronically at the register. Owners will be asked at check-out if they wish to apply the 10% Off eCoupon to their total. If not used by the end of February, the eCoupon will expire. And remember, only one coupon will be available during each month.

Here is the month by month schedule:
January- $5 off $25 or more
February - 10% off one entire purchase
March- $5 off $25 or more
April- $5 off $25 or more
May- $5 off $25 or more
June- 10% off one entire purchase
July- $5 off $25 or more
August- $5 off $25 or more
September- $5 off $25 or more
October- 10% off one entire purchase
November- $5 off $25 or more
December- $5 off $25 or more

Additionally, we are planning on transitioning to an email or electronic newsletter in 2017. This will save the Co-op nearly $35,000 in publication and mailing expense annually and meet another one of our sustainability goals.

We’ll be happy to see these savings go toward increased Owner Coupon redemptions as a result of eCoupon convenience.

On behalf of our team of more than 170 employees, thank you for your Co-op loyalty and patronage. We wish you a joyous new year!

Meet Pachamama Coffee Cooperative

By Lauren Taber, Pachamama Coffee Cooperative

Pachamama Coffee Cooperative started in 2001 with a few simple questions in mind: what would it look like to take Fair Trade a step further? How can coffee farmers be in direct relationship with end consumers in the United States?

We found that the answer was even simpler: cooperative ownership. Pachamama Coffee has been 100% farmer-owned since day one, and is currently owned by 140,000 small scale family farmers across the coffee producing regions of the world.

Community Cider Backyard Fruit Drive

How often can you browse the shelf at your neighborhood grocery store, see a bottle of hand crafted, local cider and say, “Hey, I help make that!” Well, at the Co-op you can.

Meet Store Manager Barry Haynes

By Barry Haynes, Store Manager

Twenty three years ago my wife and I began our quest to relocate our family from the midwest to the west coast. We were looking for a beautiful area with an  engaged community that would enable our children to thrive. Equally important, we wanted our new home to have a vibrant natural food store. When we arrived in southern Oregon, we felt as though we hit the jackpot.
