Who doesn’t love a nice summer day, outside by the barbecue, perhaps a cold beverage in hand? The idea always sounds great, but the actual act of properly maintaining a grill to achieve your desired results can pose a variety of problems for the novice cook. In this class we will explore some tips and tricks behind one of the most beloved of backyard comforts, and how to overcome issues such as flare ups, heat loss, and hot spots. We will head out to the garden area and get hands on with a live gas grill to cover cleaning & maintenance, timing, fun ideas to try, as well as some general “Culinary 101” such as the purpose and importance of salt. The menu will include: Teriyaki Chicken & Grilled Vegetable stir fry, BBQ shrimp w/ grilled pineapple salsa, & Grilled Flank Steak w/ Chimichurri, all of which comes with recipes and demonstration
Please note that we cannot issue refunds for missed classes or cancellations that are made within 48 hours of the class.

Growing up in a Hispanic family, the kitchen has always been the heart of the home for me. So many of my earliest memories are based not just on food, but the act of cooking as something more than just survival. After graduating culinary school, I devoted myself to honing my skills and amassing knowledge from anyone that would give it. I've opened several restaurants, in a wide range of cuisines, and learned from some truly one-of-a-kind people. As chef's we thrive on learning new techniques and skills, improving and perfecting that knowledge to one day pass it on to others.
