Meet Your Candidates
The Co-op Board is pleased to announce that we have 5 candidates for 3 open seats in the 2017 Board Election!
 
Join us for a social "Meet the Candidates" night on May 31st, 7pm in the Co-op Classroom. There will be light refreshments and an opportunity to personally ask each candidate any question you may have. Candidate statements and video interviews are also online.
 
New E-Voting Elections Process
This year our Board of Director election will be held online to help us take another step towards fulfilling our 2030 zero waste goals. We're using Simply Voting, an experienced third-party company, to securely collect votes and tally the election results. 
 
Co-op owners on our email list should have recently received an email message from "Ashland Food Co-op" <[email protected]>. The email contains secure login and password instructions as well as a link to our election site. If you have any questions please contact our Board Administrator at boardadministrator@ashlandfood.coop.
 
Participate In Democratic Governance, VOTE!
When you vote in the annual Board of Directors election, you are engaging in what defines us a cooperative - we're a democratic organization controlled by you, our owners. This democratic process shapes all that distinguishes us from other grocery stores. Voting takes place May 23rd - June 14th.
 
2017 Annual Meeting - Coming Online October 25
The Board of Directors will hold a virtual (online) Annual Meeting on October 25th.The Board sees this new platform as a way to provide for more owner input and to accommodate for different schedules. Owners who cannot attend the interactive meeting online will have the option to attend the meeting in the Co-op Classroom in person. 
 
The annual picnic will move to be part of the Co-op's 45th anniversary celebration on September 30. Stay tuned for more info!

As many of you know, the Community Fund allows us to support amazing local projects and organizations doing great work right here in Southern Oregon.

We are honored to partner with ACCESS this August - a fantastic organization that has been serving our community for over four decades. ACCESS, which stands for "A Community in Action, Connecting, Empowering, and Strengthening Self-Sufficiency," is dedicated to addressing hunger, homelessness, and poverty in Southern Oregon.

Ashland Food Co-op's Community Grants program is designed to foster meaningful change in the Southern Oregon region. Through these grants, we seek to support projects that align with our mission of promoting local and sustainable food systems, addressing food insecurity, and promoting community engagement.

July's Change for Good Partner - Maslow Project

Ashland Food Co-op is thrilled to partner with Maslow Project for our Change for Good program! Maslow Project is an incredible organization that works tirelessly to support homeless youth and families in Southern Oregon. Their mission is to empower individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency, and they do this through a range of services including housing assistance, medical care, and educational support.

May 2023 Change for Good Partner: Talent Maker City

Talent Maker City's mission is to build a more connected, prosperous, and resilient community through hands-on creativity and innovative STEAM-based learning. (STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math.) They have a bustling Makerspace facility, brimming with creative energy in downtown Talent offering hands-on STEAM-based workshops and programming for curious minds of all ages!
