AFC Gives Committee Owner Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the AFC Gives Committee!

Our strong and active AFC Gives Committee provides grants to local organizations and is essential to furthering the stability, success and core mission of the Ashland Food Co-op. Many of AFC’s key strategic matters touch this Committee.

 Summary Committee background information:

  • The AFC Gives Committee generally meets on the first Monday of the month at 9 a.m. and the meetings run approximately 1 hour.
  • The mission of the AFC Gives Committee is to ensure that grant funds are managed and distributed to local non-profit organizations through a variety of AFC Board approved programs.  To accomplish this, the AFC Gives Committee:

1) Manages the solicitation of grantees and support the marketing of the AFC Gives programs

2) Reviews funding programs annually to optimize the financial impact of the AFC Gives programs in service to our community and the Ashland Food Co-op

3) Manages the solicitation of grantees and supports the marketing of the AFC Gives programs

4) Establishes clear guidelines for the grant selection processes and evaluation criteria for grant recipients

5) Plans awards events to encourage community connections

  • The AFC Gives Committee is not a decision making body but makes recommendations and presents them to the AFC Board of Directors for consideration and action.
