Ashland Food Co-op Community Grant Application

Thank you for your interest in the Ashland Food Co-op (AFC) Community Grant program.  Applications are due by 6:00 pm Sunday, March 31, 2019.

We consider projects that align with our vision of enhancing health and enriching community, and promote our mission to provide education about food, nutrition and health.  Projects must also have a sustainability component that relates to creating a smaller environmental footprint.

Grant Application Guidelines

  • Organizations must have documented tax-exempt status to be eligible.
  • Organizations may request grants for up to $2000 and/or an AFC gift card for food and nutritional supplies for up to $500.
  • Proposals must match one of the grant categories.
  • Proposals must be clearly written with specifics on how the grant will be used and the impact it will have. 
  • Organizations will be required to provide visual and written documentation of how the funds were utilized for marketing by AFC.
The following are NOT eligible for Community Grants:
  • Grants for individuals.
  • Requests for personnel costs or stipends.
  • Grants to support commercial operations.
  • Monetary requests for capital campaigns or construction projects.
  • Grants for proposals outside of Jackson or Josephine Counties.

Grant Categories

Food and Supportive Services for People in Need

  • Grants in this category fund organizations or projects that strengthen our community by helping those with the greatest unmet needs.

Environmental or Sustainability Education and Stewardship

  • Grants in this category fund organizations or projects that teach us about our natural world and how we can sustain it and human activities for generations to come as well as  projects that have a hands-on component to improve or restore our natural environment.

Educational programs focused on Food, Nutrition & Health

  • Grants in this category fund organizations or projects that teach us about the benefits of healthy food and nutrition.
