A delightfully creamy vegan gravy, that adds the finishing touch on dishes like Cheese and Nut Loaf, baked potatoes or steamed vegetables.

½ cup raw cashew pieces
½ cup Mirin or Sweet white wine
1 ½ cups water
2 tablespoons Tamari
½ cup Mirin or Sweet white wine
1 ½ cups water
2 tablespoons Tamari

Grind cashew pieces in blender to a fine powder.

Add ½ cup Mirin or wine. Blend again.

Add remaining water and Tamari. Blend until smooth.

Pour into a 1 quart saucepan. Heat slowly, simmering until thick, while continually whisking the sauce.

Serve Cashew Gravy with Cheese and Nut loaf, baked potatoes, or with steamed vegetables.
