Ingredients
½ cup walnuts (optional)
2 large eggs
¾ cup cane sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup butter melted
¾ cup sweetened cocoa
⅔ cup unbleached white flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon sea salt
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350͒ F.

Place the walnuts on an ungreased cookie sheet and roast in the preheated oven for about 7 minutes.  Let cool and then chop.

In a medium size bowl beat the eggs, then add the sugar and vanilla. Beat again.

Add the melted butter and stir into the egg mixture.

Sift the dry ingredients together. Add to the wet mixture.

Fold in the chopped nuts and also the chocolate chips.

Bake in a greased 8 inch square pan for 20 minutes. Do not over bake or the brownies will lose their chewiness. The sides will feel set, but the center will still be soft.
