Nourish Your Family and Fight Hunger

The holiday season is upon us. Amidst the shopping frenzies, family gatherings, and parties it can be hard to remember this is also a season of giving. That’s why we want to make it easy for you to give back. So easy that it’s as simple as doing your everyday grocery shopping. You can nourish your own family and help fight hunger in the Rogue Valley.

For the month of November, we are once again teaming up with Smart Chicken® for the Smart Chicken® Smart Giving program.

Here’s how it works.

Chicken Chilaquiles

Change up taco night, or weekend breakfast, with this easy, comforting Mexican dish.

While traditionally served for breakfast, this hearty version of chilaquiles with chicken makes a quick weeknight main dish, too. Salad greens tossed with crisp radish slices and quick-pickled red onions are a tasty side

Kale and Blood Orange Salad

This salad is a great make-ahead, since, unlike many tossed salads, it keeps for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Serve with roasted meats, or top with leftover cooked sliced chicken for a hearty lunch salad. Substitute navel oranges for the blood oranges if you prefer; just be sure to use 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with the sweeter navel orange juice in the dressing.
