The land around us is wide awake from winter hibernation, and local produce is starting to trickle in.
From now on, keep your eyes peeled for local goods staking claim on our produce shelves. Check out the signs hanging above produce, and choose the ones with blue boarders for local goods.
Examples of local produce from now through the end of June include garlic scapes, radishes, beets, zucchini, and bok choy. In the realm of fresh herbs we’ll have parsley, cilantro and basil. Local greens are also in abundance, including lettuce, chard, spinach, dandelion greens, lambs quarter and many varieties of kale.
Thanks to all the hard working farmers who help stock our shelves with fresh goodies, we appreciate your hard work and perseverance. Big shout out to a few of the farmers whose goods will be on our shelves this month, Hi Hoe Produce at Bluebird Farm, Fry Family Farm, Blue Fox Farm and Whistling Duck.
Check out our website and blog post for ideas on how to use these fresh goods!
