Ingredients
¼ cup walnuts
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
1 small red onion sliced into half moons
1 tart fall apple cut into ½ inch chunks
½ teaspoon sea salt
1 bunch chard stems removed and chard cut into ribbons
2-3 tablespoons water or apple juice

Roast the walnuts on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for about seven minutes. Coarsely chop and set aside.

Heat the oil in a skillet and add the two spices followed by the onion. Stir to coat with the spices and continue to sauté until the onion is transparent.

Add the apple chunks and sauté for another few minutes. Then add the salt.

Gently place the chard ribbons over the cooking apple and stir to combine.

Cover and lower the heat so the chard steams. If necessary add the water to keep the greens from sticking
