New Website New Blog
December 8th, 2008 by Annie
Hi there. I’m Annie Hoy, Outreach Manager at Ashland Food Co-op.
If you’ve found this blog, then you’ve had a chance to take a look at our brand new website. We’re almost a decade into the new century so it’s about time the Co-op got up to speed with new ways of communication.
There are so many issues surrounding our food. My hope with this blog is to be able to educate and engage you on the issues the Co-op feels are most important. I’ll also give you plenty of opportunties to take action by directing you to action alerts posted by various other organizations at the forefront of these important issues.
What do you think the most important issues are about our food? Food security? Local food? Food safety? Genetic engineering? Leave your comments and let us know what your burning issues are.

The answer to all your questions is yes. Food safety, local food, genetic engineering, watering down the USDA Organic label, WATER! They’re all crucial issues. It’s great to belong to an organization that takes them all so seriously. Thanks for all you do.

Hi Annie,
I wonder if you have any information on MonaVie or the Acai Berry. I have read information on it but don’t see that the co-op supplies the berries or the juice. Can you assist me in this quest. I trust the co-ops judgement on products and don’t trust the stuff i’m finding online. please help,

To Annie Hoy and the Co-op manger!
Talking about food safety, I find it inexcusable, that the store kept Clif peanut butter bars on the shelf for weeks, after Clif Bar & Co had pulled them of the shelfs.
