Chocolate. We’ve got lots. You would be very much loved if you gave some to your sweetie.
Plus, we’ve got all the fixings for a wonderful and romantic dinner at home with fabulous wines to go with it. Just ask anyone on the floor about ways to prepare what you’re looking at or for inspiration for something new. Browse through our Meal Solutions recipes in the store or in the recipe section of this website. Try tonight’s culinary demo featuring Maria’s Puttanesca Sauce. The deep, rich flavors in this are good for omnivores as well as vegetarians. The anchovies are totally optional!
Stop by the Culinary Kiosk on Saturday for a Valentine’s dessert that is awesome. It’s called Chocolate Mousse without the Moos and has no animal products in it. Here’s the recipe. Hope your sweetie swoons over it!
CHOCOLATE MOUSSE WITHOUT THE MOOS
Ingredients:
½ cup roasted chocolate nibs
½ cup cane sugar
½ cup raw cashew pieces
2 cups water
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation:
- Grind the nibs to a fine powder in a blender.
- Add the cashews, and grind with the nibs to a powder.
- Add the sugar with ½ cup of the water. Blend until smooth. Be sure to get all of the nib/nut paste at the bottom of the blender mixed into the water.
- Add the remaining water, and blend again.
- Pour into a saucepan. Add the salt. Bring to a simmer, and cook until thickened. This will take about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally while the mixture is simmering.
- Remove from the heat, and add the vanilla. Chill before serving.
