I admit it. I’m a junkie for cooking shows. I can watch Top Chef reruns and not be bored. I postpone my Saturday morning grocery shopping excursion until after Nigella Express. And I’m totally in love with Cynthia Lair’s Cookus Interruptus videos. You must visit her website where you’ll see some of the funniest and useful cooking videos ever. 2009 is going to be a year of community building. After all, when we all work together, we accomplish much more than we can if we work alone. That’s why cooperation works! In fact, the human brain is hard wired to cooperate. One of the ways we aim to build community is to offer our Budget Solutions recipes to you. These recipes have been researched and developed to feed 4 people for $10 or less. The recipes make great use of Basic Pricing items and ingredients from the Bulk department. While these might not be “convenience” foods, the recipes are simple to make and use whole foods for better nutrition.
Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in January you can sample another new recipe at 4:00 PM at the Culinary Kiosk. Maria Katsantones will have plenty of sage advice about how to make the recipe and you can take a recipe card home with you or use it right then to shop for dinner.
